Who Are We?
103.1 Life FM (formerly known as Rhema FM), Grafton, is a non-profit, non-denominational, Christian based Community Radio Station in the Clarence Valley. Now….. just because we are Christian based doesn’t mean we sermonize and play gospel all day. We play a wide variety of music from country to rock and yes, some of these are Christian music.
We are locally owned and operated and run solely by dedicated volunteers and a Board of Directors.
How We Support Our Local Community
From the funding 103.1 Life FM receives we are able to hold fundraising events to support our local charities, like Palliative Care.
We are the ‘drop-off’ point for a charity called Operation Christmas Child run by Samaritans Purse for the children of the third world countries; you fill a shoebox with age appropriate gifts & everyday necessities then bring it here to 103.1 Life FM. At the end of the collection period we send all the shoeboxes to the head office in Sydney, from there they are sent to the children of the third world.
We also provide training for new volunteers, young and old, and Work for the Dole participants, from reception work to on-air announcing.
What is a Community Station?
Community radio stations are “owned” by members of their local community or special interest group and provide a locally based broadcast under guidelines set down by the ACMA (Australian Communication & Media Authority).
How Are We Funded?
103.1 Life FM receives its funding through membership subscriptions, donations and sponsorship (advertising).
The ACMA permits us to play five minutes of sponsorship announcements each hour, which allows local businesses and community organisations to give practical, fully tax deductible support.
Donations of two dollars and over is 100% Tax deductible.
Who Needs To Hear 103.1 Life FM?
We are a Community Radio Station, which means it is for everyone in this community who is interested in family values. Families need encouragement and help to survive the stress of living today. Here at 103.1 Life FM, our aim is to provide a “positive alternative” for the day to day struggles we all face. Our message is hope for the future, presented in a warm, friendly positive manner and not “preaching” at you.
